Atlanta Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19

ATLANTA – An employee from NERC's Atlanta office notified leadership of a presumptive positive test for the coronavirus (COVID-19). The employee was last in the office on March 10. NERC is in the process of identifying and notifying those who came into close contact with the employee and asking them to self-quarantine through March 24, at least. NERC informed the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), its oversight agency, as well as building management at the Atlanta Financial Center, where its headquarters are located.

“This case shows us the importance of self-reporting and self-quarantining, said Jim Robb, president and chief executive officer. “When the outbreak began, NERC activated its business continuity plan and instituted a work-from-home policy to better safeguard the health and well-being of our workforce and their families, and keep the transmission community as small as possible. We wish a full and speedy recovery to our valued team member.
