In March, the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) will meet with Generator Owners (GOs) and Generator Operators (GOPs) to begin working on the Phase II design of the Risk-Based Registration (RBR) project. Phase II will focus on creating risk profiles for registered functions and applying subsets of standards to each group based on risk profiles. In order to create these profiles and determine applicable standards for GOs and GOPs, NERC is conducting two workshops—one in Arizona and one in Atlanta.
After these workshops, NERC will have a technical basis from which to design how GOs and GOPs can be categorized by risk profiles and which standards should apply to both registered functions.
